What medications can’t HealthTap doctors prescribe?

HealthTap doctors do not prescribe:

  • Controlled drugs, including:
    • Opioid pain medicines (morphine, oxycodone, hydrocodone, fentanyl)
    • Anxiety medicines (Xanax, Valium, Ativan, Klonopin)
    • Stimulants for ADHD or weight loss (Adderall, Ritalin, Concerta)
    • Sleep medicines (Ambien, Lunesta)
    • Some muscle relaxants (Soma)
    • Cough medicines with codeine or hydrocodone
    • Anabolic steroids, testosterone
  • Abortion medications (mifepristone [Mifeprex, Korlym], misoprostol [Cytotec])
  • Medicines that require in-person exams or tests for initiation and ongoing care
  • Injectable medicines that need special training to use
  • Specialty medicines that require monitoring by a specialist
  • Compounded drugs from compounding pharmacies (generally see an in-person doctor)
  • HIV medicines (typically see an in-person doctor for PrEP or PEP drugs)
  • Lifestyle medicines (smoking cessation program drugs to quit smoking)
