To find out if your Urgent Care or Primary Care visit can be covered, you'll need to start a visit. To see if your insurance will cover the cost of a visit, you can input your insurance information on the “Confirm payment” screen when starting a visit by following these steps:

To find out if your Urgent Care or Primary Care visit can be covered, you'll need to start a visit. To see if your insurance will cover the cost of a visit, you can input your insurance information on the “Confirm payment” screen when starting a visit by following these steps:
- Select “+ Add insurance” under "Use insurance"
- Select the “Health Insurance Provider” text box and type your insurance provider's name
- Select your insurance provider from the drop-down list that appears
- Select the “Member ID” text box and type your member ID
- If you are the policyholder, select “Yes” and then select “Save”
- If you are not the policyholder, select “No” and enter the requested policyholder details before selecting “Save”
The “Confirm payment” screen will update with any details we receive about your eligible coverage for a virtual visit on HealthTap. If your insurance covers part of or all of your virtual visit fee, the “Today’s total” amount will be updated accordingly. You can pay any amount due for the visit in the “Enter payment details” section of the screen. If your insurance plan does not cover any of your virtual visit fee, you will see a charge for the full visit fee.

- You have NOT met your deductible.
- Your insurance company does NOT cover this type of telemedicine visit.
- Your health insurance company could NOT tell us your coverage at this time. In this case, we recommend contacting the insurance company directly for more information. You might be able to file a reimbursement claim for your virtual visit. Please note that HealthTap will NOT file a claim for you, so please make sure to get clear instructions to submit the claim on your own.
